Got the PC Guild Exam Bug

April 2, 2010

Back in October 2009, I sent in my first level, Affiliate level, of the Parchment Craft Guild exams. I found out in January, 2010 that I passed, with merit, my exams.

When I sent those papers in, I really had no expectations. I was more curious as to where I stood, on technique, in relation to the Guild’s expectations. So, when I received my marks, I was not only pleasantly surprised, but I felt encouraged to move onto the next level of the exams.

This morning, I finished the last piece to the Associate level exams. The folder with all the necessary pieces is ready to mail! In all honesty, this set of exam pieces was a little bit more stressful for me to complete. This time, I was a lot more careful with my work, trying to make sure each required element was done at my best. One piece gave me trouble, and no matter what I did with it, I am just not happy with it. Now, I realize that I do have some more time before the exam needs to be mailed, and it is quite possible that I may attempt this piece one more time, just in case I can make it better. If I don’t, at least the one piece I have is the best of about a dozen or more tries.

Now, I can get back to work on creating pieces and projects. At least until I decide whether (or better yet, when) I will attempt the next level of exams.
