Projects: Parchment Earrings

May 19, 2010

Ah, yes. You read that correctly, parchment earrings! I guess you could say that I am currently on a “not-a-card” roll with the parchment art right now. That’s okay, this way I can show you that there are so many different things you can do in this art.

After a long wait for my May issue of Parchment Craft magazine the first project I was absolutely enchanted with was part of a set by Alison Yeates.

Now, admittedly, I used only the supplies that I had on hand, and my looping of the jewelry wire was less than proficient, thus the stamens are not quite even on each earring. However, now that I have a handle on this, I will definitely be making these earrings again!

I have to say, that these were fun to make. Other than looping the jewelry wire evenly, my other big problem was finding a way to display them so that I could take a photo! I don’t normally keep an earring display stand around the house, so had to improvise! As they say improvisation is a good thing, it keeps your creative juices flowing!

So, what can you do with your parchment paper that is outside the norm?
