Cards: Wedding

July 23, 2010

Hi all! Well, I have certainly been busy, work schedule has been crazy. But, I finally was able to sit down and complete the card that goes with the tea light lampshade I made recently.

Taking a plain sheet of parchment paper, I decided to include the same motif from the lampshade into the card. I then traced in a pair of rings. The rings are painted with tinta gold, and cut out.

Nice and easy! If only I had more time, I might have filled in more space with the motif from the lampshade! Oh, well.

I choose to use plain parchment paper for the card since I wanted to use a slightly darker blue for the insert. The blue insert is a “shimmer” paper.

As my friend isn’t the lovey-dovey-mushy-sentiment sort of person, I found a sentiment that I think she would like…I know her other half will enjoy it:

“It is so great to know you have found

that one special person

you want to annoy for the rest of your life.”

The card and the tea light lamp do look pretty nice together, if I do say so myself.

Now, I just have one more wedding card to make for this summer. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

PS: I probably should have told you that one of the reasons I did not have a lot of time is that this wedding was originally to be in August.
