Finish Up the Year With Another Sympathy Card

December 27, 2010

I started the year making several sympathy cards, and now I have finished up the year with a sympathy card. Honestly, I feel that I have made far too many sympathy cards this year!

The pattern is from Bruno (free pattern #2), his original is in whitework. I choose to use felt tips on my version. (Gail, you have got me hooked on these felt tips!)

For the flowers I used Marvy LePlume II, # 67 Bubblegum Pink and # 65 Cherry. The leaves were painted with # 72 Pine Green and highlighted with a mix of #1 black and #5 yellow. Easy Peasy! Except it took me almost 2 weeks to do this card on account of my sore fingers.

The insert cardstock is a metallic light lavender color. All in all, very pretty, even though the scan was not the best (camera is on the charger!)

To finish up, a nicely cut and folded handmade envelope.

Now that the holidays are basically over, I am hoping to focus my attention to working on my Graduates exam pieces and my teachers certificate.

So sorry to hear you’ve had to make yet another sympathy card this year. I truly love all of Bruno’s designs and your interpretation of this one is very lovely and befitting the circumstance.

Let’s hope 2011 is full of lots of good things…..I think all of us have had our share of a very trying 2010 :))

Oh! That’s not the sort of card you want to ever make (I know we can’t avoid it) but it is really lovely and I’m sure your efforts will be appreciated. Just like we appreciate seeing your creations here!

This card is stunning, Chiara. It’s not my favorite kind of card to make, but they can be so beautiful and bring much comfort to the recipient. I hope 2011 brings you much joy. Good luck on your exams!

This card is awe-inspiring. I love the soft shading of colors. Thanks for sharing.

I’m sorry you had to make another card, and my deepest sympathies. Hope 2011 is a year you won’t have to wonder how to make or what to say in a sympathy card.

    Best wishes on your exams.
